سُورَةُ الهُمَزَةِ

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِیمِ وَیۡل لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَة لُّمَزَةٍ

WOE unto every slanderer, fault-finder!

ٱلَّذِی جَمَعَ مَالا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ

[Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard,

یَحۡسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥۤ أَخۡلَدَهُۥ

thinking that his wealth will make him live forever!

كَلَّاۖ لَیُنۢبَذَنَّ فِی ٱلۡحُطَمَةِ

Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment!

وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحُطَمَةُ

And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be?

نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُوقَدَةُ

A fire kindled by God,

ٱلَّتِی تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةِ

which will rise over the [guilty] hearts:

إِنَّهَا عَلَیۡهِم مُّؤۡصَدَة

verily, it will close in upon them

فِی عَمَد مُّمَدَّدَةِۭ

in endless columns!
